From the Chambers Desk

2013 looks to hold much promise for the Province of Saskatchewan. 2012 saw increased economic activities and overall growth was up 1.9 % over the previous year. November of 2012 also saw records established for growth in manufacturing, and oil production in Saskatchewan reached a new record of production - producing 172.9 million barrels. These records are expected to be exceeded once again, in 2013.

October 24/2012 is the date that Prince Albert & other municipalities will look to complete the municipal electoral process to select a Mayor, Councillors and School Board Members.

Summer has officially begun, perhaps now the weather will cooperate and we will see more of our annual 2200 hours of sunshine. This time of year also results in significant increases in the amount of visitors to Prince Albert, traffic increases have been quite apparent with many boats and trailers headed north. Activities in Prince Albert also pick up during the summer. Prince Albert just completed its 9th annual street fair, hosted by the Prince Albert Downtown Improvement District Association.

As the CEO for the Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce, I am enjoying my time in my new position and look forward to further engaging our members and meeting new members.

I look forward to pursuing the objectives and goals for the Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce, while continuing my efforts to support community initiatives and instill a sense of community pride.
